Kalagarh Tiger Reserve

Gypsy Safari can be taken for Kalagarh Tiger Reserve (KTR) the northern part of Jim Corbett National Park. KTR is spread over an area of 301.18 sq km which also includes Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary. It also has five forest rest houses (FRH) namely, Halduparo, Mundiapani, Rathuadhab, Kanda and Lohachaur. TADKESHWAR MAHADEV TEMPLE

Located atop a hill at an elevation of 2092m, Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is believed to be one of the ancient holy site known as Siddha Piths dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the famous temples of Uttarakhand state. According to the legend, Tarkasur was a demon who meditated and worshiped Lord Shiva at this location for a boon Ther Pre-siding deity of this temple is Lord Shiva

MANDAAL RIVER

Mandaal River is an important tributary of the Ramganga River. It flows from mighty himalayas and enters the Jim Corbett park in the KTR zone. Finally the river merges into the Ramganga inside the Corbett. Mandaal river swells during the monsoon and is home to many varieties of fishes, including mahasir.
Hermitage hill is overlooking the Mandaal River. The guests can see the infinite serpentine views of the river from the hill and take a walk to the river. The river has shallow ponds near the resort which makes a perfect place for revellers. One can also enjoy Angling at the river, post fishing permit.
The Resort organises day time activities on the river bank and also help the revellers to learn about the aquatic life.

JHULA PUL (DHOTIYAL)

Walk way suspended by iron ropes on the Mandal river for commutation between the two ends of the mountains. This is a suspended bridge and one can feel the swings while standing on the
pul. The suspended bridge is situated over the Mandaal River and connects the village area from the main highway. It is a great attraction for visitors and a great photography point for revellers.

HILL TOP SHIVA TEMPLE

Located in a small hillock on banks of the Mandal river is the temple of Lord Shiva The temple is revered by local folks and is a local attraction point. The temple is quite Old and has been built on a very small hillock near to the river. There is a small flight of stairs leading to the temple. Particular significance of the worship is in the holy month of Savan.

VILLAGE MORNING WALK

Walk to nearby house’s of villagers at Silvar Village and know about local culture, cuisine, cattle flock, vegetation, dwellings and agriculture. The dwellings on the hills are made quite different and are designed to sustain in the adverse conditions of the hills. The patrons can also experience the livestock of sheep’s and cattle’s of the local people along with food and vegetation.

ECHO POINT

Situated with the Resort of the Eastern part of the Hermitage hill is the Echo Point. From this point one can hear back own sound. Basically the sound gets reflected back from the southern hill and comes back to the person. You can chill out and do photography at the echo point and also relax at the place.

SUNSET POINT

.....

Get the glimpse of the mighty sunset on the back of the great himalyan range. It offers are spectacle orange sun vanishing in the mountains. The sunset timings varies as per the season. This is a great photography point and is a very popular spot for visitors in the resort. The shades of the setting sun also varies with the changing seasons. Please check with reception for sunset timings.

Lansdowne was founded and named after then Viceroy of India (1888-1894), Lord Lansdowne in 1887 The War Memorial, at the Parade Ground of the Garhwal Rifles Center, is an attraction for the visitors. However, prior permission from the military authority has to be taken.The patrons can take the guided tour to the Lansdowne Cantt area and see the headquarters of the Garhwal Rifles along with Old Churches and bhulla taal.

ST. MARY CHURCH

A Catholic church of historical importance, st. mary’s church is located near Tip N Top point in Lansdowne. in 1895, st. Mary’s Church was constructed by Col. A.G.B Hume of the Royal Engineers.
